Why medicine ball is so popular with athletes

The other names for this ball are exercise ball, gym ball, stability ball, fitness ball, fit ball, therapy ball, balance ball or medicine ball. The exercises with this ball are known by different names as exercise ball exercises, fitnessball exercises, fitnessball workoutgs, medicine ball exercise, etc. The size and weight make the medicine ball the ideal piece of exercise equipment for people of all ages and fitness levels. Medicine balls are available in various weights and sizes, perfect for all ages and fitness levels.

The medicine ball is used to develop different forms of strength, such as, eccentric strength and concentric strength. Concentric strength is used when throwing a medicine ball, pushing a medicine ball or pressing a medicine ball. Eccentric strength is used to catch a medicine ball and slow it down.

These general medicine ball drills develop strength and power throughout the torso, laying the foundation for the future use of specific medicine ball drills. Likewise, bench-press strength advanced by 23 % for the weight-trained athletes but inched upward by just 9 per cent for medicine-ball tossers.

Weight training proved to be far superior to medicine ball workouts, both in terms of bench-press power and throwing speed. Weight-trained athletes upgraded their baseball throwing velocity by 4.1 per cent, while medicine-ball men enhanced throwing by a statistically insignificant 1.6 percent. Control individuals also failed to improve their throwing.

Many weight-training group work out twice a week, utilizing barbell bench press and barbell pullover exercises. For the first four weeks, weight trainers completed three sets of eight - to 10-repetition max exercise per workout for both the bench presses and barbell pullovers (in other words, they used weights which could be lifted only eight to 10 times per set). For the final four weeks, employ three sets of six - to eight-RM for each exercise. All weights were lifted in a slow, controlled manner - not explosively. Medicine-ball, weight-trained, and control athletes all participated in their regular baseball workouts during the eight-week period. After eight weeks, all athletes were tested for maximal baseball throwing velocity and bench-press strength.

When you activate your II-B fibers with this explosive medicine-ball workout, you'll see big gains in strength, size and speed. The medicine ball will help you achieve fitness that emphasizes not just strength, but also explosive power, core stability and split-second responses.

The traveling office organizing your car

"I wish I had ____ with me." You fill in the blank. How many times have you been off-site, meeting with a client, only to discover you were missing a form or a brochure that would have helped you wrap up a discussion?

Whether you are in sales, real estate, consulting or a variety of other jobs, travel is usually involved. Even when you spend most of your day in an office, you still have to travel back and forth, often bringing work with you, or you might be meeting a client for lunch, and have that, "I wish I had…" comment running through your mind.

Here are some basics that would benefit everyone.

Front Seat

Calendar: Since everyone is now reachable at any time by cell phone, you would want to have a calendar handy, whether paper or electronic. If you use an electronic calendar but are not syncing with your PDA, then you can periodically print out a monthly calendar and carry that with you.

Notepad: If you have to pull over for an extended talk with a client, you want to make notes on the conversation. Do not count on storing everything in your head for later. Write it down now.

Index Cards: Carry these with you at all times. They can go in your shirt pocket, purse, briefcase, and car. Whenever something comes up that you need to do or want to remember, write it down on an index card. When you get back to the office, staple that to a full sheet of paper and place it in your Daily Action file.

Mileage Log: If you have it close at hand, you will be more likely to remember to record the miles traveled. It is so much harder to do this once a month or to recreate the data at the end of a tax year.

CDs: If you want to make good use of all the travel time, this is an opportunity to listen to recorded business books or to conference break-out sessions. On the other hand, if it is advantageous for you to relax before a meeting or while headed home, pick some music that unwinds you.

To store these materials, you might consider an auto organizer with multiple compartments, one that ties over the headrest and sits against the passenger seat. It provides easy access. When you have a passenger, you simply move it around so that it hangs in back of the seat, still within reach.

Have a zippered plastic case for extra pens, pencils, and other basic desk supplies. You do not want all of these to be loose in case of sudden stops where they could become flying projectiles.

Back Seat

Casual Reading: Have a folder of materials handy to grab any time you have unplanned open time—stopped traffic or arriving early for an appointment. It will allow you to effectively utilize your time while you wait, and in turn will lower the potential stress caused by the delay.

Map Book: Even if you have a GPS system, it is a good idea to have a backup for emergencies.

Umbrella: Do not leave this in your trunk. It does not cover you when there is a sudden downpour while you are heading into a meeting.

Trunk

Forms and Brochures: Use a small travel box or crate that holds hanging file folders. That way you can keep a supply in the car without having to guess what you may need every time you head out.

Product Samples: Get plastic bins that can contain your products. When you have them organized in containers, it leaves more room in your trunk.

Grippers: These pieces cling to your trunk carpeting and keep things from sliding around. Place them strategically at the corners of your containers.

If you use something up while you are out, make a note on an index card so you will remember to replenish that item when you get back.

Returning to your office, be sure to take out all of the new materials-order forms, business cards, conference bags, ToDo index cards-and bring them in right away. Replenish anything that you have used up. This will ensure that you always have what you need at hand, and your car does not become a clutter trap.

Your car is a reflection of you and your methods. If you find yourself embarrassed or apologizing when someone unexpectedly has to ride with you, make changes today.

The preparation will add to your confidence as you head out to your next meeting knowing that you have what you need. You are in control and you look the part.

Queen elizabeth her crown and etiquette in the workplace

It happens every day in the workplace. Those "sticky dilemmas." You encounter them all the time in marketing … like the CEO who wants to do his own TV spot when he is not only unattractive (that could be fixed) but comes off as deceptive in front of the camera (that would take a long time to fix).

How did I know? When you're a PR account executive, it's your job to know.

Is it your job to say so?

Well you aren't going to find this in the textbook. It's about emotional intelligence (EQ) and etiquette. It helps to learn the theory and how to apply it, because no textbook, no coach, can possibly anticipate all the surprises you will encounter even in one day.

The video of the latest multicultural blunder, when US photographer Annie Liebovitz asked the Queen of England to remove her crown in a photography session can be found on youtube. com. Some are labeling it "the BBC's groveling apology."

I don't agree that it's a "groveling" apology, I thought I was in order. The tape was grossly misleading. The scene implies she stormed out. It is, instead, tape of her arrival. That's the media for you.

That having been said, if you were photographing the Queen of England, would you tell her to take off her crown? In a line too good to have been scripted, the Queen replies, "What do you think this is?"

Quite a multicultural SNAFU here. Annie Leibovitz, hired to photograph the Queen, asks her to remove the crown (ever how nicely), telling her it would be more "casual." Well, yes, that it would.

And British commentators are quick to tell us that every Brit would know it wasn't a crown in the first place, it was a tiara. The crown is a little hard to miss.

Why quibble. In any situation, with any person, there is simply "going too far," and that's what happened here.

This sort of sticky dilemma comes up every day in the workplace. Actually at home, too (Do you think these pants make my butt look fat?)

Quick Quiz:

1. You've been asked by the lawyer you work for to critique his jury summary. It stinks. What do you say?

2. Your secretary's body odor is so bad you can't stand to be in the same room with her.

3. Would you edit the CEO's article for grammar? For content? His opinion that "no Asian woman can be trusted with…"?

4. Give negative feedback about anything to a "superior"? Even if it's your job? Even if you've been requested to?

5. Ask your Middle Eastern visitor to remove his head covering in the presence of the ladies?

6. Tell them you don't go to strip clubs, even if it's the fantastic dream corporation taking you out to court you for your dream job?

7. No on will go to the CFO's office. He's asking you why. Do you tell him that it's because he picks his nose in public?

8. Inform your boss that you find her cleavage and spandex unprofessional as well as tasteless?

9. Ask your French Moroccan printer if he'd like some bacon? Ask him if you can bring your wife along for the evening?

10. Ask someone in your office to quit swearing?

TAKE HOME POINTS

(1)These dilemmas come up all the time. As we become more global, it's going to get worse. There area host of things you can do, innocently, that may offend the person you're dealing with, that it would sure help if you knew about beforehand, from the dignitary whose wife has just died to the Asian who doesn't want a dozen anything for his thank you gift.

(2)There are many chances for misrepresentation, not just from the media. Check out the facts before you jump to conclusions. Use your common sense. The Queen of England would no more "storm out" of a room than your CEO would walk out of his office if you offended him. Would your secretary, who has proven herself to be honest and faithful over time, botch a document just to get overtime, like the gossipy paralegal whose been written up before is claiming?

(3) Don't like the protocol? Think it's silly? They don't. That tiara happens to be a symbol for the monarchy.

Etiquette and emotional intelligence are important to you personal and professoinal success for some many reasons! Besides, they made the world a nicer place.

Knowing and building a better business

In business, it is key to know and be in contact with those that will make your business flourish. This is what networking is capable of helping you do. Networking helps you to understand what your customers are looking for, and other businesses that can help to obtain your business goals. There are several areas that you must be proficient in before you can have a well developed business and network.

Communication is a must in any business. Not only do you need to be able to contact business partners or employees, you must know how to efficiently convey what you want them to know and understand. Being the owner or manager of a business means that you must be able to relate to others well and have incredible people skills, as there may be times when you need to discuss problems or errors within the company. You will need to know each of your employees and business partners well, in order to know the best possible ways to speak with them about various issues. You will need to be compassionate when speaking with clients to understand their needs and wants and to also help when they have problems with your products or services. You must be able to combine these items with business knowledge to help strengthen your business networks.

Having a significant number of ways to communication with others is also a must. A majority of business is now conducted in non-face to face ways. You will be to be able to communicate with others through telephones, fax machines and email. Being able to connect with your business associates instantly helps to maintain a good work flow and insure that everything is completed on time. There will be times when you need to be able to contact a client on the phone about a change in the products, that happen at the last minute, or fax an invoice to a company for an order of a product that you need as quickly as you can. Having email means that you can send letters or verify information at your convenience, even if it means at 3 a. m. This is especially helpful when your client does not live in the same time zone or even the same country as you. Verbal contact with your employees, partners and clients is the only way to help your business grow and function well.

Learning to network consists of being able to communicate with others as a personal and business level so that you understand what they need and how you can appropriately give it to them. Technology has made advances to increase your networking, but it is up to you to build and support these networks for your business.

St. croix - island of opportunity

Having just returned from St. Croix, I’m still trying to figure out what’s happening with this island. Is it dying a slow death from neglect, or swollen with opportunity & poised for serious growth? Its current state might lead one to either conclusion.

While there, I had a great time, enjoyed some spectacular scuba diving, ate excellent food at super prices, and even had time to drive most of the island looking through history and rainforests.

But the thing is, most everywhere I looked, the place seemed like it was falling apart. It reminded me of the 3 C’s of rehabbing houses – Clean it up; Cut the grass; & Cover the walls. With the exception of a handful of places in Christiansted, and the Frederiksted Pier & park area, much of the rest of the island could use some serious attention.

Many roads are a nightmare, and “scenic drive” should not mean the absence of anything resembling pavement. Simply cutting the 6’ tall grass obscuring oncoming traffic on most northern roads would make those steep, sharp turns far less hazardous. It would also let visitors enjoy the gorgeous views, not to mention restoring 2 full lanes for vehicles.

The island has a lot of history, but sometimes it’s hard to see or even find. For example, while visiting the Whim Plantation, most of the signage describing the exhibits and past culture were either faded away, washed out, or missing entirely.

In Christiansted, I followed a map that notated the location of the house where Alexander Hamilton once lived. But arriving at that spot, found no sign, plaque, or other indication I’d arrived at the correct place. After asking several locals, one finally verified the correct structure.

St. Croix has so much going for it, that it’s hard to understand why those who should be interested in its welfare don’t appear to be doing anything about improving the islands image. The advertising and promotional materials found in all the usual places indicate that tourism is indeed desirable, and an acknowledged contributor to the local economy, but I got the overall sense it wasn’t a particularly high priority.

This was really surprising to a first-time visitor, but the message coming across was clearly one of “what you see is what you get – take it or leave it”.

I would suggest that those there, in government and other groups involved in the tourism industry, who clearly talk a good game, get serious about sprucing up their island and making it inviting to tourists.

Otherwise, the promotion noise rings hollow. They should stop doing it immediately, and just fade away entirely.

For those who may be interested in finding their own place in the sun, I have to say that St. Croix still has a lot going for it, regardless of whether it gains more prominence as a tourist destination. It’s a beautiful island, and one where prices remain well below most other Caribbean destinations. You can still find plenty of places to build, or existing places to buy, without breaking the bank.

Whether the tourism industry gets its act together or not, doesn’t really matter to someone looking for a good deal on property. If things stay as they are, property values will continue to grow gradually, and the island will remain much as it is.

On the other hand, it’s a good time to get in, and values could increase dramatically. The islands large size (compared to many others) would allow for years of growth before it comes close to becoming densely populated.

So whether St. Croix stays stagnant or spruces up and gains attention, there’s not really a down side for those looking for property.

I for one hope they get serious about fixing up and promoting the island. The handful of things mentioned earlier would be a good start, and take hardly any time to rectify.

Whether they do or not, as someone interested in scuba diving, it’s still worth several trips back, just to spend time visiting the famous “Wall” along the north shore, where the reef drops off a few thousand feet down – awesome diving!

Where can you buy the dinar safely

There are a lot of places where you can buy the Iraqi dinar. It will be a half year dayjob to test them all!

So where can I buy the dinar safely?

Look for the companies that are involved in more than only selling the new Iraqi dinar. They do not want to destroy their good names by selling counterfit notes or just do not send you anything at all.

These companies are better to get in touch with and you can check them out more easily on the search engines. Do not buy at sites where there is no contact information! Always try to email the company first so the least you know is that their customer support is fine.

Also try to find out more about the company by doing an IP check. You can fine a lot of sites offering this for free. If it is a hidden id and no info can be given about the domain just leave. When they are hiding means they do not really believe in this opportunity and are just resellers for the quick buck. Why would they otherwise hide?

What I can say is that when something is 'hot' you always get fraudland people attracted. There are already scam reports regarding this. People who do not receive anything at all or just copied paper! As soon as you receive your dinars find out what the security marks are (do a search on google!) and check it out.

Also look at the prices. It should be somewhere around $100 for 100,000 dinars. When the price is a lot less alarm bells should ring. When it is a lot more look for a better place. I have seen prices on the net ranging from $50 to $200 for the same pack of dinars. Just do not jump onto this, get educated!

For the rest I recommend that you use the documentation on my site. The links, ads and articles are there for you, to assist you in your due diligence.

The best to you and keep away from the scammers!
